The Dutch Fork Amateur Radio Group (DFARG), call sign W4DFG, is pleased to share an update on our ongoing improvements to support ARRL Volunteer Examiner testing sessions. The club has recently purchased ten Amazon Fire HD 10 tablets dedicated specifically for administering ARRL exams.

These tablets play an important role in modernizing our testing process. The ARRL’s digital exam platform allows candidates to take their Technician, General, or Extra exams electronically, which speeds up grading, reduces paperwork, and ensures cleaner, more accurate submissions to the ARRL VEC. To support this system, a stable and secure internet connection is required—one of the key reasons our club invested in a reliable hot spot from Mobile Citizen. With both the hot spot and tablets in place, our testing team can operate smoothly at any location.

A special thanks goes to our President, Rick Senkowsky (KQ4FOB), who once again put in the time and diligence to find the best equipment at the best price for our club. After two full testing sessions, the tablets have performed exceptionally well and are proving to be a solid investment for our VE team and future exam candidates.
